Simple Smocked Pillow

Project size - 6" x 6"

Thursday, March 27th, 6pm - 8:30pm

Class fee - $25, Kit fee - $10

Smocking is a traditional hand embroidery technique used to create stretch in fabric. It was used prior to the introduction of elastic and was popular in cuffs, bodices and garment necklines. In this class, you will learn 3 basic smocking stitches: cable, baby wave and 3-step trellis. All smocking will be done by hand, so a sewing machine is not needed for this class. Your completed pillow will measure approximately 6” x 6”.

The only supplies you need for class are small scissors and a thimble. Thread Heaven (a thread conditioner) would be helpful. Your kit will included the pre-constructed pillow, DMC floss, needles and class handout.

3D Bow Tie Serger Quilt

Thursday, April 10th, 4pm - 8pm

Class fee - $40.

Use your serger to create this unique quilt! The bow tie block is simple yet gives the quilt interest and dimension. You will learn how a chain stitch can be used to quilt and attach binding. This class is appropriate for a beginner, or if you haven't used your serger for awhile!

The blocks will be constructed on your serger. The quilting and binding can be done on a sewing machine, or using a coverstitch/chain stitch machine.

BONUS - you will have the opportunity to try-out the new

Baby Lock Applaud Creative Top Cover Stitch machine.
